Software Developer

Are you an experienced Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable applications and turning ideas into high-performing digital solutions? We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our technology team and play a key role in designing, developing and optimising secure, scalable and future-ready software solutions. This is more than a coding role. You’ll have the opportunity to influence solution design, architecture, development standards and DevOps practices, while working alongside Solution Architects, Product Owners, QA and delivery teams. What you’ll be doing • Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using modern technologies and frameworks. • Build robust front-end and backend solutions, APIs and reusable software components. • Work with technologies including React, Angular, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript and serverless frameworks. • Translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions. • Contribute to solution architecture, technical design and framework decisions. • Develop applications designed for performance, scalability, security, resilience and maintainability. • Work with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure and/or GCP. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practices. • Work with containers and technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Design and develop relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL or similar. • Write unit tests and support integration, system and UAT testing. • Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis and drive technical resolutions. • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives. • Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for continuous improvement. • Apply secure coding practices and ensure solutions meet security, data protection and governance requirements. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate developers. • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and identify opportunities to introduce better ways of working. What we’re looking for You’re an experienced developer who can move comfortably between hands-on development, technical problem-solving and solution design. You’ll ideally have: • 6–8 years’ professional software development experience. • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a proven experience-based equivalent. • Strong full-stack development experience. • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development using React, Angular, Vue, Node.js, Java, .NET, Python and .NET technologies. • Strong backend API development experience. • Solid knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles and software architecture. • Strong database design and development skills. • Experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD. • Experience working within Agile development environments and across the full SDLC. • The ability to take business requirements and turn them into working, scalable software solutions. • Experience working effectively within hybrid and distributed teams. • Clear criminal record Why this role?
