Full descriptionHeliumCare is hiring a Research Specialist to lead the research agenda across HeliumCare and other unique research touchpoints within Helium Health. You'll turn program and organizational insights into research output — journals, abstracts, papers, and conference presentations — and represent Helium's work in research and academic circles.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
• Lead research design and analysis drawing on HeliumCare program work and other relevant data touchpoints across Helium Health
• Identify research questions and opportunities across public health programs and Helium's broader work
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data quality and research rigor Publications & Writing
• Write and publish journal articles, abstracts, and papers based on program and research findings
• Produce white papers, case studies, and reports that translate research into evidence funders, partners, and the public can use
• Draft thought leadership content positioning HeliumCare and Helium Health's broader work with the right audiences Conferences & External Representation
• Identify and secure speaking/presentation opportunities at public health, health tech, and research conferences
• Attend and represent HeliumCare at relevant research forums and academic events
• Build relationships with academic institutions, research bodies, and public health networks Positioning & Strategy
• Work with program and comms teams to ensure research output supports HeliumCare and Helium Health's broader positioning in public health and health tech
• Translate complex research findings into accessible formats for internal stakeholders, funders, and the public
• Contribute research-backed evidence to grant proposals and funder reporting
• Advanced degree in Public Health (MPH or equivalent), Epidemiology, Health Data Science, or related field — or a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with demonstrated research experience
• Demonstrated experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals or presenting at conferences
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills; comfort working with program and organizational data
• Excellent scientific/academic writing skills
• Ability to translate research into accessible content for non-academic audiences Nice to Have
• Existing relationships with public health or health tech research networks in Nigeria/Africa
• Experience with grant-funded research or donor-facing reporting
• Familiarity with health data platforms or EMR/digital health data
