Lead IT Infrastructure at Rewardsco | Strategy, Technology & Resilience
Rewardsco is looking for an experienced IT infrastructure leader to drive the stability, security and resilience of our technology environment.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer / IT Director, you will lead specialist technical teams, shape infrastructure strategy and ensure our systems, networks and cloud platforms support a high-volume, 24/7 contact centre environment.
This role will focus on strengthening infrastructure resilience, optimising hybrid environments and ensuring business continuity to support long-term growth.
What we need you to deliver
- Develop and execute an IT infrastructure strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives, operational requirements and future growth.
- Lead infrastructure, network, systems, cloud, database and information security teams, driving accountability, technical performance and service delivery.
- Ensure the availability, performance, capacity and reliability of infrastructure supporting business-critical, 24/7 operations.
- Oversee hybrid infrastructure environments spanning on-premises servers, co-location facilities and public cloud platforms.
- Drive network reliability and performance across LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs and voice-related infrastructure, including telephony, dialler platforms and SIP connectivity.
- Strengthen virtualisation, storage, backup and disaster recovery capabilities to minimise downtime and protect critical business services.
- Own infrastructure security, access controls, patch management, monitoring and compliance, ensuring alignment with POPIA requirements and readiness for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits.
- Establish effective incident, problem and change management practices in line with ITIL principles, ensuring critical incidents are managed decisively and lessons are translated into preventative improvements.
- Own infrastructure budgets, vendor relationships, technology contracts and service-level agreements, ensuring cost-effective delivery and measurable service performance.
- Drive business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing and remediation to strengthen operational resilience.
- Identify infrastructure risks, capacity constraints and opportunities for improvement, translating these into prioritised initiatives and investment plans.
- Communicate infrastructure performance, technical risks and mitigation strategies to executive stakeholders and clients, including technical due diligence for bids and RFPs.
- Build and develop high-performing technical teams through effective recruitment, performance management, coaching and operational support planning.
Who we are looking for
A proven IT infrastructure leader with extensive experience managing complex infrastructure environments, leading technical teams and ensuring the reliability and security of business-critical technology services.
You will bring strong technical knowledge across networking, server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, security, backup and disaster recovery, supported by the strategic capability to translate business requirements into practical infrastructure roadmaps.
Experience managing hybrid environments, co-location facilities, public cloud platforms, infrastructure budgets, vendor contracts and SLAs will be essential to your success.
You will hold a Bachelor's degree or NQF Level 7 diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, together with at least one relevant professional certification, such as ITIL 4 Foundation, CCNP, Microsoft Azure, AWS Solutions Architect or VMware VCP.
We are looking for 8–10+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including 3–5 years leading technical teams across infrastructure, systems, networking or service desk functions.
Contact centre or BPO experience will be highly advantageous, particularly where infrastructure supports high-availability telephony, dialler systems, SIP trunks and continuous business operations.
Most importantly, you will be a decisive and accountable leader who can balance strategic planning with operational execution, lead effectively under pressure and make sound decisions during critical infrastructure outages.
What sets you apart
Your title and years of experience will get our attention.
The infrastructure environments you have led, the technical teams you have developed, the resilience improvements you have delivered and the critical incidents you have successfully managed will determine whether you are right for this role.
If you have the technical depth and leadership capability to strengthen a complex, business-critical IT environment and want to make a meaningful impact on infrastructure strategy and operational resilience, we want to hear from you.
