The Printing & Packaging Press Manager will lead both the commercial growth and technical operations of the printing press unit.

Summary:

• The Printing & Packaging Press Manager will lead both the commercial growth and technical operations of the printing press unit.
• This role oversees prepress, press, and post-press finishing across offset, flexographic, UV flatbed, carpet/fabric substrate printing, and corrugated packaging/carton lines, ensuring commercial profitability and strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic & Commercial Leadership: Drive unit revenue growth, client acquisition, job costing, quotation approvals, and client relationship management for commercial print and packaging contracts.
• Pressroom & Technical Oversight: Supervise offset presses, UV flatbed printers, flexo lines, die-cutters, carpet/fabric printing units, and carton converting machinery.
• Prepress & Quality Control: Oversee artwork verification, color separations, CTP plate generation, density/color matching (Pantone/CMYK), and registration precision.
• Production Scheduling & Throughput: Optimize job sequencing to reduce setup downtime, wash-up times, paper/board wastage, and substrate ink drying times.
• Supply Chain & Consumables Management: Manage procurement and consumption of inks, plates, paper stocks, corrugated boards, fabric substrates, and press chemicals.
• Maintenance & Regulatory Standards: Oversee routine maintenance of press rollers, blankets, curing lamps, and die-cutting tools; ensure compliance with SON print standards.

Location: Idu, Abuja (FCT)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10-15years in a commercial printing press or packaging manufacturing plant, with at least 8 years in a management capacity covering both sales and technical press operations.
• Technical Skills: Mastery of offset printing, digital/UV flatbed systems, flexography, corrugated packaging structural design, substrate ink durability testing, and prepress workflow software.
• Competencies: P&L management, commercial bidding, pressroom workflow optimization, color management, and client account management.
