WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

Talentrah has already done the hard part most startups never get past: it built a real product people use. AI-powered resume building and job matching, real employer job postings, a mentorship marketplace with paid human mentors, a verified Talent Directory selling into diaspora and global employers — all of it live, all of it earning in some form. What it hasn't had is a single person whose full-time job is to grow it. Growth, marketing, and employer sales have been running the way they do at most early companies: by the founder, in whatever hours were left after building the product. We're hiring the person who takes that over completely and is accountable for the number.

ABOUT TALENTRAH

Talentrah is a job marketplace built for how people in Nigeria and across Africa actually search for work and hire. Job seekers get AI-assisted resume building and job matching through Farah, our in-product AI, plus a real path to mentorship and a verified profile that employers — including diaspora and global companies hiring African talent — can find and trust. Employers get free job posting today, with paid ad campaigns and Talent Directory access as the business grows into a real two-sided revenue model. Every part of the payment experience is mobile-money-native from day one, because that's how this market actually pays, not an afterthought bolted onto a model built for somewhere else.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Twelve months in, this role will have built the growth engine Talentrah doesn't have yet: a repeatable way to bring job seekers onto the platform and keep them coming back, an employer motion that turns free job postings into paying ad-campaign and Talent Directory customers, and a real diaspora/FX-revenue pipeline where today there's an idea and a product feature. You'll have real numbers — not vibes — behind every claim about what's working, a dashboard the founder actually checks, and, if the case is there, the first junior hires or agency relationships to help you run it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own job-seeker acquisition and activation end to end — organic, referral (building on the existing Refer & Earn program), community and social, and paid where it earns its keep — and own the resulting numbers, not just the campaigns.
  • Build Talentrah's first real employer sales motion: turn free job postings into paying ad-campaign customers and Talent Directory buyers, including the diaspora and global-employer segment that's currently untapped.
  • Own the growth funnel for Talentrah's monetized job-seeker features (Credits and Passes) — find where people convert, where they drop off, and fix it.
  • Stand up the marketing function from the ground up: brand voice, content and SEO (currently run ad hoc), social presence, and outbound campaigns like the recruiter-outreach work currently done founder-side on LinkedIn.
  • Put in place the reporting Talentrah doesn't have yet: real acquisition, activation, and revenue dashboards the whole team, including engineering, can see and trust.
  • Represent Talentrah externally — employer relationships, partnerships, and press or community opportunities that build the brand.
  • Once there's a case for it, hire and manage the first junior growth/marketing/BD hires or outside agency support.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR — REQUIRED

  • 5+ years in a growth, marketing, or sales leadership role at an early-stage marketplace, platform, or two-sided product — not a single-channel specialist role.
  • A track record you can point to of owning both a demand-generation number (signups, activations, active users) and a revenue number (bookings, MRR, ad revenue) — even if at different companies or different times.
  • Direct experience marketing or selling to Nigerian (or broader African) employer or consumer audiences, including real comfort with mobile-money-native payment behavior.
  • Hands-on fluency with the actual tools of the job: a product analytics stack (GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or equivalent), a CRM or pipeline tracker, and basic paid-channel management — this is a doing role for at least the first year, not a strategy-only one.
  • Comfortable building the function yourself with a small or no team and a limited budget before it becomes a role that manages one.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR — PREFERRED

  • Experience in HR-tech, recruitment, staffing, or a job marketplace specifically.
  • Experience building or scaling a diaspora-facing or remittance-adjacent revenue line — understands why selling to the diaspora is a genuinely different motion than selling locally.
  • Existing relationships with Nigerian or African SMB employers, HR communities, or recruiter networks.
  • Comfortable working alongside an engineering-led team that verifies claims against real data before shipping them — says “I don't know the number, let's go find it” rather than guessing.
